Where to Use Dragon Fangs?
During their Tears of the Kingdom campaign, players may notice four different dragons flying around Hyrule. Unlike the Gleeoks, these dragons are mostly harmless. They won't attack Link, and when shot with an arrow, they will drop one of the following: a scale, claw/talon, horn, or fang.
The dropped material will depend on what part of the body that players shoot. Because Dragon Scales can be farmed from just about anywhere on the dragon, they're the easiest to get. In contrast, claws and fangs are more difficult to farm because of how precise Link needs to be. Tears of the Kingdom requires Dragon Fangs for several armor upgrades, so they're worth the trouble.

Farming Dragon Fangs in TotK
To get a Dragon Fang, players need to shoot an arrow at the dragon's mouth. However, this has to be right on the mouth as shooting too high or too low will generate a Dragon Scale instead. The only way to get a Dragon Fang is to:
- Fly close to the dragon and level Link so that he's in-line with the dragon's jaw. If players are worried about falling, the updraft will replenish their stamina when they reopen the paraglider.
- Draw the bow with ZR-button to enter bullet-time, and aim for the seam of the dragon's mouth.
- If players are close enough to the dragon, they can tap A-button and grab the Fang before it falls to the surface. If not, try to keep an eye on where it lands. Dragon Parts will sparkle, making them easier to find.
Each dragon has its own flight path, and once a part has been farmed from them, they will have a 10-minute cooldown. This counter goes by real time, and pausing the game stalls the cooldown. The best way to wait out the cooldown time is to stand and wait on the dragon's back. Remember: Do not pause TotK.
The four dragons in TotK are:
- Light Dragon
- Dinraal
- Farosh
- Naydra
The dragon part farmed from one dragon will be different from another. For example, farming a Fang from the Light Dragon will yield a Shard of Light Dragon's Fang. If players need Shard of Dinraal's Fang, then they'll need to seek out Dinraal and not the other dragons.
How to Get Shard of Light Dragon's Fang
The Light Dragon is the only dragon that doesn't go into The Depths. She has a flight path that takes her nearby most Geoglyphs and most Skyview Towers. As such, it's not a bad idea to activate all the Skyview Towers.
If players don't have theMaster Sword , they can go to Korok Forest (accessed from Chasm north of Woodland Stable) and get rid of the Phantom Ganon in the Great Deku Tree's stomach. Speaking to the Great Deku Tree after the gloom has been cleared from the forest will unlock a side quest that tracks the Light Dragon's location. This will make it much easier to track her down.
If players already have the Master Sword, then the tracker will not be placed, and the Master Sword side quest will be marked complete.
Unlike the other dragons, the Light Dragon won't harm Link. This makes her the easiest to farm from, as players can just sit on her back and wait out the cooldown. However, she flies over areas that are cold, so players will want to equip two pieces of cold-resistant gear or take a Chilly Elixir.

How to Get Shard of Dinraal's Fang
Dinraal is the red dragon that flies around East Akkala and the Eldin Region. She'll enter The Depths at the Drenan Highlands Chasm and return to The Surface from the East Akkala Plains Chasm. The closest landmarks that players can get to her are:
- East Akkala Plains:
- Ulri Mountain Skyview Tower (3493, 2019, 0188)
- Sinatanika Shrine (3842, 2300, 0048)
- Drenan Highlands:
- Typhlo Ruins Skyview Tower (0338, 3123, 0174)
- Kikakin Shrine (-0395, 2736, 0287)
While Dinraal isn't aggressive, she can unintentionally set Link ablaze if he lands on her back. There are also balls of flame that shoot up from her body. As such, players will want to avoid equipping wooden armor or weapons, and will want to have heat-resistant gear such as the Flamebreaker Set.
How to Get Shard of Naydra's Fang
Naydra is in the opposite location of Dinraal. She flies out of the Naydra Snowfield Chasm and enters the East Hill Chasm. Players will want to track her down from the following landmarks:
- Naydra Snowfield:
- Mount Lanayru Skyview Tower (3845, -1306, 0539)
- Zakusu Shrine (3527, -1482, 0168)
- East Hill:
- Kakariko Village (1822, -1002, 0112)
While Dinraal can set Link on fire, Naydra can freeze him solid. As such, players will absolutely want to wear gear that will protect Link from the cold (ex: Snowquill Set). If players are hit by one of the ice spheres that float up from her body, they'll instantly be frozen and plummet to the ground. A fall from that high up will kill Link (unless he has a Fairy), so they'll want to be careful when gliding near her.
Players that manage to upgrade their Snowquill Set to level 2 will get the Unfreezable Set Bonus. This is perfect to wear when farming Shard of Naydra's Fang.

How to Get Shard of Farosh's Fang
Farosh flies between Faron and the Gerudo Canyon, which are located at the south of Hyrule. She enters the Depths at the Hills of Baumer Chasm, and she returns to The Surface from the East Gerudo Chasm. The closest landmarks to Farosh's Chasms are:
- East Gerudo:
- Gerudo Canyon Skyview Tower (-2423, -2202, 0302)
- Siwakama Shrine (-2445, -3345, 0041)
- Hills of Baumer:
- Popla Foothills Skyview Tower (0602, -2118, 0098)
- Susub Shrine (0348, -2051, -0026)
On The Surface, a thunderstorm appears wherever Farosh goes. This makes it absolutely dangerous for Link if he's wearing metal, so remove all metal equipment. Farosh, like Dinraal and Naydra, will also send up sparks of electricity from its body. Getting hit by those will shock Link. If Link is on Farosh's back and he gets struck by electricity, there's a chance he will drop his weapon. Take Electro Elixirs or wear a level-2 Desert Voe Set to get Shock Resistance.

Where to Use Dragon Fangs?
Dragon Parts can be used to cook powerful elixirs. Although they're technically monster parts, they can be cooked with food. Cooking a Dragon Fang with a Razorshroom will give Link a strong buff that increases his attack power.
The other place to use Dragon Fangs is at Great Fairy Fountains. When Link assists the Stable Trotters with playing music for one of the Great Fairies, he can upgrade his armor at that respective fountain. The following armor requires Shard of Dragon's Fang:
Level | Which Dragon Fang? | |
---|---|---|
Fierce Deity Set | ★★★ |
|
Tunic of Memories | ★★★ | |
Champion's Leathers | ★★★ | |
Armor of the Wild | ★★★ |
