The top "sticky" post tells you ALL necessary materials to upgrade ALL armors, though it doesn't tell you "per armor" ... just grand totals. That said, here's the list of what you need:
3 Farosh's Scales
3 Dinraal's Scales
5 Naydra's Scales
3 Light Dragon's Scales
3 Farosh's Claws
3 Dinraal's Claws
3 Naydra's Claws
3 Light Dragon's Talons
3 Shards of Farosh's Fang
3 Shards of Dinraal's Fang
3 Shards of Naydra's Fang
3 Shards of Light Dragon's Fang
5 Farosh's Horns
5 Dinraal's Horns
5 Naydra's Horns
3 Light Dragon's Horns
15 Shards of Farosh's Spike
15 Shards of Dinraal's Spike
15 Shards of Naydra's Spike
Now ... that's 56 dragon parts that are NOT shards from the spikes on the back of any given dragon. That means a minimum of 560 REAL LIFE minutes that it will take to get those all because of the 10 minute "cool down" once you farm a dragon part that is NOT one of the spike shards. Each dragon has 13 at a time, so you'll need to hit up each dragon twice for the shards, but they are not on a timer ... they re-spawn like other materials do, eventually after some amount of time.
So I'm not sure how long it would take you to get what you need to upgrade all the armor you want ... but if you keep at least the amounts listed above then you can sell any additional you get, or use them for cooking or fusing to weapons.

It’s 560 real life minutes maximum. That’s if you’re inefficient about it and are trying to farm them all at once, aka the silliest way to go about doing it. Doing it in even a remotely intelligent way (aka hitting up all the dragons in a single 10 minute cycle) cuts that time to a little over two and a half hours (Naydra takes some extra time), and if you see a dragon and grab a part every time (very easy with travel medallions) that reduces concentrated grind significantly.
Top 10: TotK > TP > BotW > BD > FFXIII > BS: EL > DQIX > ALttP > HK > FE: Fates

it's impossible to tell exactly how long it will take, but you have a good point. That said, you'd need to know the path each one takes, and you'd kinda need to know where each one is at any given time so you can hit up one dragon, then HOPEFULLY get to the next one within the 10 minute time frame and get a part from it (thus saving some time) ... so on and so forth.
Anyway, I was just trying to get the basic info out there. I didn't mean to imply that under no circ*mstances could it be done faster than that. Regardless of how you go about it, it's still a good amount of time you'll spend getting all those parts, regardless of how you do it.
